Greetings

Greetings is a lazy-suzan gone astray, like an empty stage at a mall or country fair. It exists before or after the show, when cleaning is in progress.

The yellow signs dance and clap to The Pina Colada Song by Rupert Holmes. I did this with animatronic devices connected to audio and a timer.

I built Greetings after reading Pastoralia by George Saunders. It’s a short story about being forced to perform as a caveman in a bankrupt theme park. At the time, I had also been working at an empty theme park in Ballarat called Kryal Castle.
